Vases: Aesthetic Movement Vases-French Ceramics

This is an unsual Pair of French Ceramic Vases made in the last quarter of the 19th Century. The strong and vibrant colors of the blue and turquoise are exceptional and the use of the gilt butterflies is the icing on the cake. The gold technique of the Butterflies has been used by the French before, both Caranza while at Longwy & Veillard/Bordeaux used a gilt bird is this technique which I believe is a form of raised enamaling. Also, Fernand Thesmar used a gold technique on his pieces, condition is excellent, not to mention the usual triangle shape of the vases, 7 &1/2 inches tall (Item number: 668)
