Rosewood Rococo Revival Center Table, bearing the stenciled label of James G Blake & Son, Cornfield St Boston, The Foreman of the Blake shop was Eliaers, Furniture by these Cabinetmakers are in the Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Chicago Historical Society, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Eliaers exhibited at the Crystal Art Palace.
Most rococo center tables of this period would have the typical less costly marble top, However, the cabinetmakers here chose to use a solid & highly figured rosewood top which would make the table more costly when made. The table has Lady Liberty Heads, & Floral Crests on the apron, floral carvings on the legs and finial, The table is highly French Polished, & is in excellent condition, 38”wide, 30” deep, 29 ½”tall
