An Ebonized and gilt inlaid armchair, with a rope inlay above the legs. the front legs most distinctive with ebony and gilt design. The rear turned legs are turned and plain, one with a chip out if it which is shown in the photos. The upholstery is held up on the bottom by a piece of masonite. This important chair is definitely as found! the design was so important that I could not pass it up, I am offering it as is, cleaned and reupholstered it will be a real winner. The chair is definitely, made by one of New Yorks, premier makers of the period, either, Herter, Pottier& Stymus, Marcotte, as it is most sophisticated in detail (Item number: 174)
