A Museum quality love seat by John Henry Belter New York, mid 19th century His furniture is in most major American Museums, and a complete parlor is devoted to his furniture at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. He is known for his patent for laminating furniture. This love seat is of laminated rosewood. It is tufted and upholstered in a Scalamandre silk damask. The love seat is in the desire able Fountain Elms pattern. Other pieces by John Henry Belter are in inventory.
